Gordon is a bit nuts, but also brilliant, and very caring towards his protégé', a young and talented writer. He guides him, and the entire cast of actors who are all at a point in their lives when they are about to give up, and aren't committed to the work. He's selfless when it comes to art, but is also eccentric.
